Last weekend before I started the 100km ride Susan France encouraged me to make it 100 miles instead. “Nah, I’ll get that ride in on President’s Day,” was my reply. Susan countered “Why wait it’s nice out today. Next week who knows? It might rain.”
Thinking of a typical Oregon winter day with light, occasional rain and temperatures around 40, I laughed. Those would be great riding conditions for my disposition.
Right now this winter’s unusual feature, high winds, are visiting the region. Over the weekend we’re going to get some record cold. Who knows what the conditions will be like on Monday for a 200km (124 mile) ride.
It might rain? I wish!
