This morning on the ride in to work I noticed there was a bit of wind. Not a strong wind, but more than a breeze. It took conscious effort to keep my speed up to the pace I normally just spin out for a relaxed commute. Arriving at work I checked in with Weather Underground (history page for today) and saw that I’d been riding into a 15 to 18 mph wind. (I arrived at work a little before 8:00.)
It’s working! It’s working! Months of commuting into headwinds have acclimated me to them. Headwinds are now as normal for a ride as rain, darkness, dogs and chipseal.
