A marine reservist returning from Iraq along with his combat unit while in uniform, carrying orders and having ID was denied boarding of an airplane in Los Angeles. Why? Because he was on the do not fly list. Why? Because when he shipped out to Iraq there were traces of gunpowder on his combat boots. Read initial report here.
How fucking stupid. Like an in uniform marine in the company of his combat unit poses a threat to a plane’s security? Like it is not obvious that he is on the do not fly list through some sort of error?
The combat unit refused to leave the airport in Minnesota until they had their last man with them. At least some people are showing some sense.
